Dalam matakuliah ini akan dibahas pengertian dan kegunaan keramik (Sifat umum keramik & Gelas, jenis keramik dan aplikasi pasar, sejarah perkembangan keramik), Konsep Dasar Keilmuan Keramik (Struktur & Ikatan atom dalam keramik, Binary compound, imperfection of ceramics), Struktur Kristal (spinel, perovskite, Silikat, Mica, Clay, Pyroxene, Mullite, Zeolit, dll), Diagram Fasa Keramik dan Glass (Gibb Phase Rules 1,2,3 Komponen, Konruen & Inkonruen), Karakterisasai Material Keramik (Furnace, Karakteristik Struktur, Cacat, dan Dislokasi), Struktur, Pembentukan, dan Sifat Glass (Pembentukan, struktur dan sifat, glass ceramic, Proses Manufaktur Keramik & Glass (Pembuatan Serbuk, Sol-Gel, Platelet, Shaping & Forming), Gelas Keramik & Gelas (Viscositas, cacat pada gelas, Pewarnaan Gelas, Precipitasi dan kritalisasi pada gelas), Properties of ceramic (Sifat mekanik bahan keramik, Sifat termal, Sifat listrik dan magnet, sifat optik, dll), Refraktori (Jenis Refraktori, Sifat-sifat refraktori, Klasifikasi refraktori berdasarkan bentuk dan alplikasinya, Perkembangan refraktori dan tren saat ini, Tips memilih refraktori), Biokeramik, Keramik tradisional.
