ABSTRACT
Basil (Ocimum africanum) is one of the vegetables that are very easy to wilt. The long post-harvest process and changing environmental conditions cause the basil to wilt faster. The wilting that occurs in the basil will reduce the physical quality of the basil, this makes the consumer’s interest less in buying basil. The purpose of this study is to recommend a good post-harvest treatment of basil so that the quality of basil does not decrease. The research method used in this study was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 packaging treatments and also basil washing treatment before packaging. The results of the packaging treatment showed that the quality was good in each treatment but it was seen that plastic packaging and banana leaves were the best treatment among other treatments. Wrapping with plastic and washing is the best treatment, which is then followed by wrapping in banana leaves without a washing process. Packaging with banana leaves can be done to reduce plastic waste.
